Thomas Halliwell build new R&D centre for Adaptimmune
Adaptimmune is a leading company in the T-cell receptor therapy industry, working tirelessly to develop novel immunotherapy techniques to help patients fight against cancer diagnoses. In an effort to improve their research and development capabilities, Adaptimmune sought to build a bespoke manufacturing facility adjacent to their current premises and, as experts in specialist mechanical and electrical engineering projects, Thomas Halliwell were contracted to deliver a full electrical services package.
Many elements of the design needed to adhere to strict regulations. Staging and quarantine areas, cell processing rooms, cryo-store, and cold store areas needed to be built to a number of precise requirements. Employees needed to be able to fully control these environments. Grade B cleanrooms were also required for the manufacture of allogeneic cell therapy drug products.
The Thomas Halliwell team got to work
They began by removing all irrelevant electrical services and adding a new small power installation and a stand-by generator. New LV distribution switchboards were built, along with all mains and sub main cables.
