Thomas Halliwell deliver high quality electrical fit-out on vital hospital ward

North Devon District Hospital in Barnstaple offers emergency and urgent care for people across North Devon and its surrounding areas.

To reduce the large backlog of patients caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (RDUHT) asked Wernick Buildings, Thomas Halliwell and their medical fit-out partner MIG Medical, to build and fit out a standalone 10-bed ward, with scope to expand on the existing building in the future.

Once the outer, modular shell was put into position and the medical fit-out completed, Thomas Halliwell carried out the extensive electrical fit-out of the building, before opening for staff and patient use.

Within just 17 weeks, the Thomas Halliwell team installed the Jubilee Ward’s unique electrical systems – to help ease North Devon District Hospital’s patient backlog, giving staff and patients a safe, secure and high-quality new healthcare facility.
